Welcome to the INCS Charter School Data Finder!
Here you’ll find a suite of interactive data tools that put publicly reported data about charter schools and other public schools at your fingertips.
The Charter School Data Finder has two main sections driven by INCS’ twin emphases of Advocacy and School Support. The Charter Sector Overview provides compelling statistics and graphs about who charters serve, how they perform, and their policy environment. The Interactive School Performance section shines a light on individual school comparisons across all public schools.
The metrics in the Charter School Data Finder should be viewed as the start of a conversation about school quality – one that must expand to include the metrics listed that are not yet available. INCS will continue to advocate with policy makers and others to evaluate schools using a comprehensive lens, including school climate and non-testable student outcomes. The Charter School Data Finder is an important step in helping charter schools understand and share their performance story.
Forthcoming releases of this tool will include data on charter schools outside of Chicago, Northwest Evaluation Association (NWEA) Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) data, and Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) data as Common Core standards take effect.
We invite you to explore the Charter School Data Finder. Your first step is to choose either sector level data or school level data below:
